Klong chen pa begins his lengthy discussion of Buddha word with the two types: Mantrayāna (as expressions by sku, gsung and thugs of Mañjuśrī, Avalokiteśvara and Vajrapāṇi respectively) and Pāramitāyāna (detailed analysis of origin, classification, and dissemination of the Tripiṭaka, 27 f.). Klong chen pa then discusses the nature of bka' (defined on 39.4) and the bstan bcos (detailed, 41.3 and defined, 44.1). Klong chen pa classifies bka' into lung and rtogs with regard to essence; into beginning, middle and end with regard to time; into three yānas with respect to capacity; into inspiration via sku, gsung and thugs with regard to dominant condition; and into Vinaya (antidote to 'dod chags) Sutta (zhe sdang) and Abhidharma (gti mug) with regard to counteragents and their corresponding genres.
