In Bön descriptions of the creation of the world (for instance as found in the mdzod phug), this is the name of the prime mover in the creation, who collects the world’s “five causes” from the passive nam mkha' stong ldan phyod sum rje. These causes coalesce into an egg of light and an egg of darkness; it is khri rgyal khug pa who cracks the egg of light, which leads to the manifestation of the positive dimension of the universe. khri rgyal khug pa is also known by the name mngon rdzogs rgyal po, and comes to be associated with the sambhogakāya, and with gshen lha 'od dkar.
